Which Liberty is this?

This guide covers the riverside hotel at 17 Ton Duc Thang. Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint is a different hotel at 59–61 Pasteur, opposite an Opera House metro entrance, and Liberty Central Saigon Centre is at 177–179 Le Thanh Ton near Ben Thanh. Liberty Hotel Saigon Parkview, Greenview and Liberty 2 belong to a separate, simpler line.

Getting here, and getting around

From the airport

A Grab car usually costs VND 150,000–250,000 and a metered taxi VND 170,000–280,000 plus a small airport gate fee (October 2026). Bus 109 runs to Ben Thanh for VND 15,000–20,000, cash to the conductor. The hotel car is listed at about VND 1.1 million per vehicle for up to four.

Good to know the domestic T3 terminal is about as far as T2, around 8 km. Watch out rush hour and heavy rain can double the drive time.

Nguyen Hue, the Opera House and City Hall

Walk south-west along Ton Duc Thang past the end of Dong Khoi and you reach the river end of Nguyen Hue in five minutes. The Opera House is 11 minutes away and City Hall about 13, so the classic evening loop starts at the hotel door.

Good to know Dong Khoi’s shops and cafés begin a few steps from the lobby. Watch out cross Ton Duc Thang only at the signalled crossings.

Opera House and Ba Son metro stations

Line 1 runs from Ben Thanh east to Thu Duc and Suoi Tien. Single rides cost VND 7,000–20,000 and a day pass VND 40,000; trains run from about 5:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and to 23:00 at weekends (October 2026). Opera House station is about 800 metres away, Ba Son about 1 km.

Good to know it is the easy way out to Thao Dien and Thu Duc. Watch out Line 1 does not go to the airport.

Getting around from Liberty Central Saigon Riverside

01

Pin the right side of the road

Set Grab pickups at the hotel entrance, not on the riverside promenade, so the driver meets you without a U-turn and you skip the crossing.

02

Walk early or after dark

Midday heat makes the 19-minute walk to Ben Thanh hard work. Go before 10 am or after sunset, or take a short Grab.

03

Time the airport run

Weekday rush hours slow every road out of the centre. For a tight flight, leave an hour before you think you need to.

Honest note

Ton Duc Thang is a wide, busy road between the hotel and the river, so you cannot simply stroll out onto the promenade — you cross four lanes of traffic at the lights. Footbridges for the riverfront have been planned, but we could not confirm any as open when we checked in October 2026.

Questions about getting to Liberty Central Saigon Riverside

Which address should I show a taxi driver for Liberty Central Saigon Riverside?

Show the hotel name with “17 Tôn Đức Thắng, Phường Sài Gòn”. Drivers who learned the city before July 2025 may know it as Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, which is the same place. In a ride app, searching the hotel name usually finds the right pin; check that it shows Ton Duc Thang and not Pasteur Street.

Is Liberty Central Saigon Riverside the same as “Liberty Hotel Saigon Riverside”?

Yes — some brand and travel pages use that shorter name for the same riverside hotel at 17 Ton Duc Thang. It is not the same as Liberty Hotel Saigon Parkview or Greenview on Pham Ngu Lao, which are simpler hotels from a different Liberty line. Check the street on your booking.

Can I walk from Liberty Central Saigon Riverside to the War Remnants Museum?

You can, but it is about 2.3 km and 31 minutes on foot, mostly through hot, busy streets. A Grab takes a few minutes and costs little, and many visitors combine the museum with Independence Palace, about 1.8 km from the hotel. Walk back through the park in the cooler evening if you like.

Is there a water bus stop near Liberty Central Saigon Riverside?

Yes. The Bach Dang water bus pier is on the riverfront, roughly a five-minute walk along the promenade. Fares were VND 15,000 one way in December 2025, and a new timetable has applied since April 2026, so check the operator’s website for current departures before you go.

Can I walk across the river to Thu Thiem from the hotel?

Not yet on the route we measured: Thu Thiem is directly opposite, but by road it is about 3.8 km through the river tunnel. A pedestrian bridge between the centre and Thu Thiem has been under construction; check its status locally. The water bus is another way across.

Is there parking at Liberty Central Saigon Riverside for a rental car?

Booking listings disagree — one says there is no parking on site and another mentions valet parking. If you are driving, email the hotel before you arrive to ask where to leave the car and what it costs. Most visitors do without a car in the centre.
